The Process of Creating Architectural Models

  1. Understanding Requirements:
    The process begins by gathering detailed information about the project, including the building type, dimensions, design requirements, client preferences, and intended use of the space.
  2. Site and Design Analysis:
    The site conditions, existing drawings, dimensions, orientation, and surrounding environment are analyzed. This helps establish the basic design parameters and ensures the model accurately represents the project requirements.
  3. Creating the Base Model:
    The architectural model is developed using BIM or CAD software. Basic elements such as levels, grids, walls, floors, roofs, and building layouts are created according to the approved design and drawings.
  4. Adding Architectural Elements:
    Detailed components such as doors, windows, stairs, ceilings, railings, furniture, and other architectural features are incorporated into the model. Materials and finishes are also assigned where required.
  5. Developing Detailed Model:
    The model is refined by adding accurate dimensions, room information, construction details, fixtures, and other required architectural components. This ensures the model provides sufficient information for design and construction purposes.
  6. Review and Coordination:
    The architectural model is reviewed for accuracy, design consistency, and potential clashes with structural and MEP elements. Necessary corrections and revisions are made based on project requirements and coordination feedback.
  7. Finalizing the Architectural Model:
    Once the model is reviewed and approved, the final architectural model is prepared with all required details, views, drawings, schedules, and documentation for construction, coordination, and project presentation.
